Is Kim Kardashian set to wed Kanye West?

Rap superstar Kanye West is preparing to pop the question to girlfriend Kim Kardashian after asking a private jeweler to design a personalised engagement ring for the reality star.

According to US gossip website RadarOnline.com, the besotted performer will add a special touch to the dazzling trinket by using diamonds and rubies from his late mother's collection.

A source told the news provider: "Kanye picked out some of Donda's most expensive pieces, including some diamond earrings and a ruby ring."

The rapper is planning to get down on one knee for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star when her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries is finalised following their 72-day union.

According to the insider, West's decision to use his mother Donda's own jewellery for the ring is because he "respects and loves" Kardashian just as much and wants to share the collection.

However, the Gold Digger performer's friends have reportedly questioned his decision and advised West not to propose just yet.
